At the federal level, an Assistant Deputy Minister Executive Committee for the Beaufort Regional Environmental Assessment is responsible for ensuring federal interests are maintained and that linkages to other regulatory and policy initiatives including the streamlining work of the Major Projects Management Office and Fisheries and Oceans’ Beaufort Sea Integrated Oceans Management Plan are informed and supportive of the BREA work. The purpose of this committee is to in order to ensure federal interests are retained and being met through the multi-stakeholder initiative.
