Baffin Island Oil Spill Project (1980-1983)

The Baffin Island Oil Spill (BIOS) Project was established to sponsor multi-disciplinary oil spill field studies in Canada's eastern Arctic. The aim of the Project was to determine the effects of chemical dispersants on the Arctic environment and to evaluate optional shoreline protective and clean-up processes and procedures. The BIOS studies were published in Arctic (1987) available on the Arctic Institute of North America's Arctic Science and Technology Information System website.
